Team Building Activities in Atlanta – Culinary Style

The best restaurant kitchens have the most cohesive teams. Their crews work like a well-oiled machine: everyone performing their role, watching out for each other, and plating successful lunch and dinner services every night. Their trust and culinary team work demonstrates itself night after night.

Even if you don’t have a restaurant, you’re still in charge of a team that has a common goal. Cohesive teamwork might seem like a dream if your own crew dissents or disagrees with each other, or has trouble collaborating. Instead of trying meetings, golf, socials, or ropes courses, consider some culinary team building activities in Atlanta.

Everyone can relate to cooking, whether they can barely boil a pot of water, or they’re a learned home chef. With the goal of cooking and plating a successful meal for everyone to share, your team can learn to work together in a unique environment!

How do these Culinary Team Building Activities Work?

example-teamcooking4-1920wYour group; our menus, professional chefs, and kitchen. All sessions run for about 3 hours. We can handle your small group of 10 employees or a large group of 70 for team building in Atlanta. Our Dallas location can handle your large group of up to 100 workers.

We first divide your group into smaller, competing teams. The smaller groups give every person a better opportunity to let their say and influence be heard.

We then provide detailed recipes to each team. All recipes are part of a larger menu, which changes depending on the season. With as much or as little guidance of our professional chefs as desired, each individual team will work to create the recipes assigned to them. At the same time, the teams have the option of being innovative, and taking whatever approach to the recipe they choose.

By working together to create a meal, and competing in a friendly setting, the teams will communicate, cooperate, troubleshoot, and ultimately achieve the goal of presenting the best meal they can.

But that’s not all! There might be a few “surprises” thrown into the mix. Much like some of the cooking competition shows on TV, these ‘speed bumps’ will exercise the teams’ adaptability and innovation in the wake of setbacks. All along the way, the important thing is for each team to be comfortable, work together, and have fun!

Once the last meal is plated, and the last burner has been turned off, it’s time for each team’s meals to be judged. The breakdown is in three parts:

  • Time (25%)
  • Presentation and Plating (25%)
  • Taste (50%)

Winning teams are frequently awarded our stylish Chef’s Jackets, and of course everyone gets to sit back and enjoy the meals they’ve just prepared!
